Ponosno objavljujemo da su medju 62 finalista ovogodišnjeg takmičenja za najbolje mlade ekoreportere nagradjena tri rada koje su poslali učenici iz Crne Gore: Jovana Damjanović (OŠ „Dr Dragiša Ivanović“, Podgorica), Maria Kazimirova (Arcadia Academy, Lješevići) i Nikola Kovač (Osnovna škola „Savo Ilić“, Dobrota).
Jovana je osvojila drugu nagradu za članak (11-14 godina) ”Da li plače Suza Evrope?” (mentorka: Danka Odalović). Maria je dobila specijalno priznanje za ekološku fotografiju (11-25 godina) ”Počivaj u miru, Prirodo”, a Nikola je sa Luisom Martinsom iz Portugala osvojio specijalno priznanje za članak u kategoriji medjunarodne saradnje (11-14 godina)
Podsjećamo da su u finalu bila još tri rada čiji su autori: Dajana Metikoš i Nađa Miković (Srednja ekonomsko-ugostiteljska škola, Nikšić), Dmitriy Churin (Gimnazija Kotor) i Mila Miketić (Gimnazija „Petar I Petrović Njegoš“ Danilovgrad).
Preko 275.000 učesnika učestvovalo je ove godine na međunarodnom takmičenju „Young Reporters for the Environment (YRE) 2020“ i pripremili su preko 16.000 radova za nacionalna takmičenja. Broj i kvalitet odražavaju kontinuiranu motivaciju i predanost mladih ekoreportera širom svijeta, uprkos izazovima izazvanim pandemijom COVID-19. Za predselekciju je poslato 182 rada iz 31 zemlje.
Radovi nagrađeni ove godine pokazuju veliki novinarski talent učesnika i duboko razumijevanje složenih ekoloških problema koji pogađaju njihove lokalne zajednice. Međunarodni žiri je svoju procjenu temeljio na odabiru tema učenika, njihovim razmišljanjima o tome kako se tema povezuje s ciljevima održivog razvoja i njihovim ukupnim novinarskim vještinama. Nagrađeni radovi predstavljaju neke od najboljih omladinskih ekoloških novinarskih priloga u svijetu danas.
Međunarodno takmičenje YRE ne bi bilo moguće bez truda nacionalnih operatora YRE, čiji su napori omogućili hiljadama nastavnika i učenika da učestvuju na ovogodišnjem konkursu.
Ovogodišnji sastanak međunarodnog žirija održao se od 15. do 17. septembra preko zoom platforme. žiri je temeljito procijenio svaki rad u užem izboru i dodijelio nagrade za 1., 2. i 3. mjesto, kao i specijalna priznanja, na osnovu njihovog tehničkog kvaliteta, nivoa istraživanja, originalnosti i širenja. Međunarodni žiri čine profesionalci iz ekološkog novinarstva, korporativne društvene odgovornosti i obrazovanja za održivi razvoj.
Članovi žirija 2020 bili su: Bernard Combes (United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization – UNESCO), Anne Vela-Wagner (Mars Wrigley Foundation), Torvald Jacobsson (Independent Institute for Innovation, Interational Institute for Industrial Environmental Economics – Lund University), Christopher Slaney (Freelance Journalist), Siiri Mäkelä (UNEP, Kenya), P.J. Marcellino (Portuguese-Canadian filmmaker, and a former YRE. Head of Development, Anatomy of Restlessness Films. Founder, Baobab Film Collective), James O'Hagan (Reporter in Euronews’ Dubai bureau), Filipa Murta (YRE Alumna from Portugal) i Sasha Karajovic, (Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) Executive Board member with responsibility for YRE, National coodinator in Montenegro).
